Walk Routes in Haworth

'A' Party Walk:-
Walk Leader: Jenny Matthias
Distance:91/2 miles

We leave the village via a path from the church.

Climb up to Pennistone Country park The route passes a small cricket ground (maybe some play!), before dropping down across the road to head for the Bronte Falls - along the Bronte Way.

Climbing up a short steep track, we will make our way along the Pennine Way to Withins ruins. Turning NNW we aim for a trig point at 444m before making for the Alicomden Stones. Retracing our steps to Within ruins, we will pick up the Bronte Way and follow it back to a track, then into Pennistone Hill, but we will go round the west side, returning into Haworth.

There is not a lot of steep, tough walking, but a steady pace will have to be maintained

'B' Party Walk:-

Bronte Waterfalls and Wuthering Heights

Walk Leader: John Smith
Distance: 7 Miles with 5 Stiles

The going is pleasant with wonderful views on well trodden paths and some roads at the start and finish.
There is one steep uphill climb from Bronte Chair followed by an uphill slope to Top Withins where we will take lunch.
The return journey is largely flat or downhill, including a glorious stretch of the Pennine Way.

'C' Party Walk:-
A Bronte Flavour
Walk Leader: Norman Jones
Distance: 51/2 Miles.

A Bronte Flavour to the walk, of course.
West out of Haworth, down to cross lower Laithe Reservoir dam and through Stanbury village. we continue west to a short steep downhill section, going south to Bronte Bridge over South Dean Beck. From there it's east to Penistone Hill and back into Haworth to view the village and partake of the local refreshments

Five and a half miles in all and about 425 feet of gradual height gain.
