Clapham is quite simply one of the prettiest villages you could care to imagine. It truly is like something out of a postcard.
Through the centre of the villages runs Clapham Beck, which is crossed by a series of old stone bridges. The slate-roofed houses around it are built from the same or similar stone, with most of them dating back to the 18th century..........more
Tourists keep returning to Clapham,.........more

Total Ascent/Descent: 500ft app
Walk Distance: 5 miles app
Total Ascent/Descent: 500ft app
The C Walk starts with a
coffee and tea cake in a local tea shop in Clapham. We leave the village of Clapham and walk east
along a path, across fields, through kissing gates and on towards Austwick. We pass
through the quiet little village of Austwick and then north and up to the
erratics, - a geological term for a large rock that is out of place, as
depicted by their composition. We head
west; pass under Robin Proctor’s Scar and back to Clapham in time for a well-deserved
drink.
