This circular walk takes us up to
Winskill stones, down to Stainforth village, across the river Ribble, and then
along the river back to Settle. The first 1 ¾ miles are uphill – the first bit
(about ¼ mile) is fairly steep but we
will have plenty of time to take it slowly.
The rest of the ascent is more gradual and mostly on good grass track or
tarmac. From here it is level or downhill.
If the weather permits we will enjoy the views when we are on higher
ground.
