The walk starts at Llanrwst (Pronounced as clan roost) and takes in part of the historic village crossing the river by historic bridge. The walk is largely along good pathways most of which have a variety of exceptional scenery. Although four an A walking no particular great heights are ascended, the walk is challenging and very enjoyable. A particularly nice thing about this walk is that there are very many changes in scenery which ranges from, historic churches, historic monument to the fantastic treeline surrounding a most beautiful area which supplies a reservoir. There is a considerable area of paths which are not well used and therefore there is a considerable amount of beautiful flowers to be seen. Towards the end of the walk, there is a glimpse of Swallow Falls and various other small waterfalls along the river leading into Betws-y-Coed the last 2 miles of the walk offer some beautiful tourist style walks along the river. The overall distance covered is 11.1 miles, and on the day we did the reconnoitre some of the path were slippy and therefore it is recommended that walking poles are used.
