C Walks from Betws-y-Coed 2012

Walk Leader: Terry Simmons
Total Distance:  6.5 miles
Total Ascent/Descent:   ft

THE WALK I HAVE SELECTED AND HAVE CARRIED OUT A RECCE FOR  IS THE CONWAY GORGE, FAIRY GLEN,CONWY FALLS & THE MACHNO FALLS.

THIS CAN BE FOUND IN THE “WALKS AROUND BETWS-Y-COED”

THERE ARE A FEW PARTS OF THE WALK THAT NEED TO BE NOTED AND CARE TAKEN.

ON OUR EARLY ROUTE TO BEAVOUR BRIDGE WE NEED TO BE AWARE OF THE S BEND WHICH IS VERY TIGHT.  ITS ESSENTIAL YOU FOLLOW THE LEADERS REQUEST TO WALK IN SINGLE FILE FOR A FEW YARDS  TO ENSURE SAFETY.

ALSO WHEN WE REACH THE A5 WHERE WE HAVE TO WALK A FEW YARDS ALONG THIS BUSY MAIN ROAD.

THE WALK TAKES IN MANY VIEWS OF THE DIFFERENT FALLS HOWEVER THE FIRST OF THESE IS CALLED “THE FAIRY GLEN” WHICH CARRIES  A COST OF 50P PER PERSON I WOULD LIKE TO THINK WE COULD ALL DO THIS BUT IT IS DEPENDENT ON A] WEATHER & B] TERRAIN. WITHOUT VISITING THIS  IT IS STILL A PLEASANT WALK.

FOR COFFEE ETC WE WILL LEAVE THE COACH AND GO DIRECTLY BACK DOWN THE ROAD STRAIGHT  ACROSS THE A5 INTO THE “GWYDYR HOTEL”
