B Walk from Settle 2018

Walk Leader: Pat Guy
Total Distance: 8 miles
Total Ascent: 1400ft

B Route clockwise

From Settle we start the walk following the River Ribble as far as Stackhouse then cross over the river and the railway and walk into the pretty village of Langcliffe. We then take a steady uphill path to Upper Winskill  on this path we have splendid views across the Ribble Valley and also of Pen-y-ghent and Ingleborough mountains.
Catrigg Force

The next point of interest is Catrigg Force where we will stop to look at these lovely waterfalls.  We retrace our footsteps for a short distance and unfortunately have to walk along a quiet road for nearly a mile, then we a have another ascent up to the Victoria caves and along to Attamire scars which are above Settle, we follow this path for about a mile before descending down into the interesting town of Settle where there are plenty of tea shops or hostelries to refresh ourselves.
